Modern Chaabi groups, such as this one, combine Andalusian traditions with their own innovations to create an upbeat, celebratory style. They sing in Darija (Moroccan Arabic).

The group Nass el Ghiwan represents Moroccan Chaabi in the 1970s. The group is semi-political, and is often called The Beatles of Morocco. Their popular song Essiniya is a conversation between a man and his tea tray, where the man reminisces about the past and reflects upon the uncertainty of the future.
